Fruit Trees
Unusual varieties of yuzu, cocktail grapefruits, limes, Meyer lemons, and mandarin oranges are taking root in the backyard for both beverages and baking. (The terraced plot is the perfect sun-dappled spot for them to flower before the winter harvest.) In the summer, cherries, mulberries, nectarines, and persimmons make up her bounty.
All the Vegetables
Sherman harvests tomatoes, artichokes, cornichon cucumbers, unusual herbs like holy basil and pineapple sage, and more than 10 kinds of lettuce from a hügelkultur (a raised garden bed of mulch, fallen branches, compost, and soil) for her photo-worthy salads.
Tea Leaves
