Cornelia Parker’s work uniquely combines meaning, materiality and message in a powerful and challenging way. Her installations are arresting and visually and intellectually demanding. She works in a wide range of media, including photography, sculpture, installation and in the case of Magna Carta, textiles. Her consistent use of materials to suit the themes is remarkable, as she experimentally ‘stress tests’ each one, making work with metal, glass, wood, textile remnants and fabric.
