In a letter to the Zambian government, Chaliafya Katungula, advocate-general of the organisation Forestry Advocacy for Communities, Communication, Transparency, Accountability and Research, has urged the government to intentionally support capacity-building initiatives for foresters, agriculturalists, natural resource professionals, and livestock production specialists.
“There is a crucial connection between agroforestry and livestock production for many smallholder farmers. Agroforestry, which integrates trees and shrubs into agricultural landscapes, offers a sustainable solution to improve livestock nutrition,” Katungula stated in the letter.
