PRIME DESTINATIONS
Southern black bream occupy a wide range of habitat from the upper tidal reaches of rivers, down through the estuaries and into lakes, harbours, inlets and bays. Locations such as Mallacoota Inlet, Bemm River, Marlo, Gippsland Lakes, as well as many smaller systems in between offer some exceptional lure fishing year round. Closer to Melbourne, each of the major Port Phillip tributaries, including the Patterson, Yarra, Maribyrnong and Werribee, are home to numbers of urban bream. Further west, the Curdies, Hopkins and Glenelg Rivers are the major standouts, with a number of smaller waterways dotted along this stretch of coastline.…
