Intellijel Make it Rain
Times must be good too for Intellijel, who had their own dedicated booth. Their biggest new showing was Rainmaker (approx $650), a hugely deep DSP effects unit which at its heart is a “16 tap stereo spectral rhythm delay and comb resonator”. Imagine being given laser-guided control of 16 pristine delays, each with individual granular pitchshifting, resonant multimode filter, feedback, and timing, freeze and reverse, with up to 20 second delay time, plus comb filter section, with almost every conceivable aspect thereof under frightening levels of control. Capable of many things, it’s one of those devices where sound comes in, and an entire track comes out.
Also on show was the Jellysquasher (approx $350) analogue compressor, demoed through an Acidlab Miami TR-808 clone (nice touch). The…
