Each NWR has its own seasons and rules, both of which are explained on their respective websites. A list of refuges, organized by state, can be found on the Fish and Wildlife Service website (fws.gov). Some states, like Tennessee, have a variety of state-run public lands that are not technically WMAs. Search for them on state game agency sites.
In our post-9/11 world, some federal lands, notably military installations and Army Corps lands near dams, have strict regulations, so hunters have to research the specifics of each location.
