It started with the most dramatic and glorious of Masters wins by Rory McIlroy and finished with a rather less exciting but equally impressive Royal Portrush procession by Scottie Scheffler. Rock on, Tommy I’m just back from playing two rounds at Royal Birkdale with its new holes for the 2026 Open. It is still a brilliant course, but the changes may take a little bit of getting used to. This was followed by two rounds at Coxmoor near Nottingham, which I thought was a great test of golf and very fair.
