It’s prime picking time for fall fruit, so what do you do with all them apples? We think you’ll like this tasty suggestion:
PECAN-STUFFED APPLES
Core 6 apples and trim bottom 1/in. off each; place in 7- to 8-qt. slow cooker. In bowl, with fingers, combine 1/cup chopped pecans, 1/cup dried tart cherries, 4 Tbsp. butter (at room temp), 1/cup brown sugar, 1/tsp allspice, 1/tsp. pepper and pinch salt. Stuff into centers of apples. Pour 3/cup apple juice around apples. Cover and cook on Low until tender, 4 hr. Serve warm, with ice cream.
