To remove: Soak the stain for 30 minutes in white vinegar, working in the vinegar to help dissolve the salts from sweat and antiperspirant. Fill a basin with a mix of hot water, an enzyme detergent like Tide and 2 Tbsp of either all-fabric or chlorine bleach. Soak for up to an hour. Rub in detergent and wash, adding more bleach. Well, it’s not unhealthy, but it’s no miracle beverage. This trendy plant-based “milk,” now hogging supermarket shelves, is made by blending water and oats, then straining out the liquid. Oats on their own are filled with fiber, protein, B vitamins and minerals like iron, calcium and magnesium. They’ve also been linked to reduced risk of heart disease, thanks to a fiber called beta-glucan that’s associated with improved cholesterol levels, immunity and gut health. However, because oat milk is processed, it’s too early to say whether drinking oats has the same benefits. Compared with cow’s milk, oat milk has similar calories, vitamins and minerals, but more carbs and fiber and less protein. WHAT IS NOISE POLLUTION? The EPA defines noise pollution as any unwanted or disturbing sound that reduces your quality of life or disrupts daily activities. Traffic, barking dogs and loud music all qualify, but it’s how noise impacts us that really matters. We are surrounded by sounds. Shop your local grocery store, kitchen pantry and backyard to create a beautiful (and cheap!) summer arrangement. Fill an old tomato sauce jar or a sturdy juice glass halfway with water. Using strips of tape, create a grid over the glass’s opening to keep stems in place. Put the glass inside a brown paper lunch bag and roll the top of the bag down until the glass is covered. Gather your flowers and remove any leaves or buds that would sit below the waterline to keep water fresh and extend the life of your bouquet. If you purchase CBD oil in the U.S. from one of the 10 states where both recreational and medical cannabis use is legal, there’s a better chance you’ll get a higher-quality product than if you buy one made with hempderived CBD oil imported from abroad, says Martin Lee, director of Project CBD (projectcbd.org), a nonprofit that promotes medical research on CBD.
