Do you remember how strange the pandemic was in 2020? I believe we’ve all done our best to block it from our minds. I’ll never forget watching the news on March 13, 2020. We were ministering in the state of Florida, and the government was issuing a state of emergency across our country and beyond. Shortly after, we were receiving phone calls left and right from churches. Cancellations were flooding in. “Surely this will only last for about 2 weeks”, we thought to ourselves. Then months went by, and we were still on “lock down” in our homes. There were beautiful moments sprinkled in the uncertainty. I loved enjoying my firstborn who was turning 1 at the time. It is quite evident that the young men of the Inspirations Quartet not only love the Lord; they also have a deep respect and love for those who have paved the way in Southern Gospel music. They have beautifully captured the classic sound and style of yesteryear. Over the last few years, the beloved quartet has reached back in the vault and brought back several classic songs (even some from their own discography) giving them new life. In the same vein, the group has paid homage to their own past by recreating several classic Inspirations album covers. This new recording continues this great new tradition. I have been blessed to host Southern Gospel Music broadcasts for over 30 years in the Nashville market. I came to town in 1992, working as the morning DJ at WENO. In 1995, I went on the air as the “mid-day” guy on the Reach Satellite Network. A few years later, I took over as the morning voice on the same network, which was then “Solid Gospel Radio.” For the next 25 or so years, my program, known as “The Good Morning Wake Up Show With Gregg Hutchins,” was heard on over 100 stations in the U.S., and streamed world-wide.
