BRYAN (77): “I was 20, Edie 17 when we met. We bonded through outdoor interests. Edie loved exploring national parks. We hiked Carnarvon Gorge, Green Mountains (O’Reilleys - Binna Burra), Atherton Tablelands, Cape York and hinterlands of the Gold and Sunshine Coasts. Other Australian walks were in Kakadu NP, the Kimberley, Karijini NP, southwest Western Australia, Tasmania, Flinders/Gammon Ranges, the Warrumbungles, Mt Kaputar NP, the Bungles Bungles and Bondi to Manly.
There were hikes on Lord Howe and Norfolk Islands. Retirement meant hikes overseas – Queen Charlotte Track (New Zealand); Mt Kinabalu (Borneo); Kumano Kodo (Japan); Tour du Mont Blanc (France, Italy, Switzerland); West Highland Way, Great Glen Way and Coast to Coast (UK).
