The .32 H&R Magnum, introduced in 1984, was a joint project between Harrington & Richardson and Federal Cartridge Co. It’s the older .32 S&W Long case lengthened by .155-inch. Thus, any .32 Magnum revolver will also fire .32 S&W and .32 S&W Long. This is convenient as the shooter has a choice of three different cartridges for one handgun. Per factory ballistics, the .32 Magnum has double the energy of the .32 S&W Long and 13 percent more than standard .38 Special loads. This is well above most .32-caliber handgun cartridges. S&W and Ruger manufacture revolvers for the .32 H&R, and any revolver chambered for the newer .327 Federal Magnum can safely fire the .32 H&R. LEGISLATION UPDATES Anti-Gun Bills Introduced In Hawaii Several new anti-gun pieces of legislation have been introduced in Hawaii to kick off the new year. A couple of these new bills predominantly target trigger modifications and other parts and accessories designed to increase rate of fire, while others are more far reaching. The bills include: Senate Bill 2046: This legislation is similar to that introduced at the federal level by U.S. Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA). It essentially criminalizes owning, manufacturing, possessing, selling, bartering, trading, gifting, transferring or acquiring a firearm accessory or other device, part or combination of parts designed to or that functions in a way to accelerate the firing rate of a semi-auto firearm.
