The Duchess of Cambridge and eight-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer have teamed up in a generous gesture to raise money for disadvantaged and vulnerable children. The Laver Cup Open Practice Day will take place on 22 September at London’s O2 Arena. The event will give fans the chance to watch Roger and other tennis greats from Team Europe and Team World during their final on-court practice ahead of the competition – named after Australian tennis legend Rod Laver and co-founded by Roger – which takes place on 23-25 September. The Duke of Cambridge will be in New York City next month to host a special “innovation summit” for his Earthshot Prize.
