THE itinerary for the Railway Touring Company’s’‘Great Britain XVII’holiday tour for 2025 has been announced.
The trip will set off steam-hauled from London Victoria on April 26, heading for Bristol Temple Meads through Weybridge, Woking, Guildford, Havant, Romsey and Salisbury for a water stop, and then onwards via Warminster, Westbury, Bradford-on-Avon and Bath.
The next day will see the tour heading via Carmarthen and Tenby to Pembroke Dock, a rare occurrence for steam-hauled trains, and on to Fishguard Harbour behind a diesel. The return to Llanelli is steam-hauled throughout, with the night spent in a Cardiff hotel.
Monday, April 28 will see the tour take the Welsh Marches route to Shrewsbury, the borders line to Chester, and then the West Coast Main Line past Morecambe Bay to Grangeover-Sands, from where…
