The war on cannabis concentrates continues in California, as DEA agents and local law enforcement raided properties owned by Care By Design, which produces cannabis oils, tinctures and sprays under the AbsoluteXtracts brand.
The enormous coordinated effort involved more than 100 officers, including Santa Rosa police and Sonoma County sheriffs, who raided five properties associated with the company. Several people were arrested and equipment and payroll records seized.
It appears that authorities suspected Care By Design of illegally manufacturing concentrates through butane extraction, based on a tip by a disgruntled former employee. However, Nick Caston, a Care By Design spokesman, told reporters that the company uses CO2 rather than butane for its extractions.
