Whether you’re after sheer elegance, quirky playfulness, retro chic or mid-century charm, arresting patterns and prints are always an ideal way to infuse a sense of liveliness into a room. As well as creating a captivating kaleidoscope of shapes and hues with colourblocked pieces, you can also employ the subtle side of this design trend into your overall aesthetic direction – for example, a restrained monochrome rug or cushion will make a huge difference, especially when it’s adorned with striking embellishments such as zigzags.
