Take the first group and place the tiles onto your work surface. GLOW IN THE DARK Look to the Scandinavian countries for tips on how to use lighting to create cosy spaces. They can have as little as four hours of daylight in winter, so their interior lighting has to be just right. Scandinavian lighting style thinks beyond lamps and considers the more unusual spaces that can be lit. A bit about me I’m Gemma Gear, an interior stylist. I live in this Victorian terrace in West Sussex with my partner Tom Reeves, and our much-loved dog, who’s called Digby. My problem living room The room hadn’t been touched since the ’70s, so it was dated and lacklustre. It was also small, so we needed to maximise space. It had great light though and lots of original features, like the fireplace and architraves. The potential was easy to spot; it just needed some TLC. How did it all begin? For my degree show project I came up with the idea for Magnetic Woodlands Wallpaper, complete with magnetic creatures that people could use to act out their own stories. My prototype received a lot of press attention and so I decided to explore my ideas for the home further. Shortly after finishing uni, I launched my company, making fun, affordable homeware.
