This might be a bit of a romantic idea but I always feel that the pace of life slows down in summer. When the sun comes out, doing very little becomes an art form as we set up our loungers, pop to the supermarket for a bottle of Aperol and invite friends over for a sundowner or two. What I like best about this time of year is getting my house and garden summer-ready. So far, I’ve painted my outdoor furniture in a dusty pink and cobalt blue and I’m now giving an ugly breeze-block wall at the end of my garden a bright lavender makeover.
