Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s Colin Comer purchased his 1965 Pontiac GTO 12 years ago. Prior to its rediscovery, it had been sitting dormant, engineless, and forgotten in a garage for years. Comer had Scott Tiemann’s Supercar Specialties perform a showquality, body-off-frame, rotisserie restoration, turning it into a visual replica of a Royal Bobcat Pontiac 421-powered car. “My goal was a car that appears deadstock on the outside, so at a Pontiac car show the GTO experts would say it’s a gorgeous stock restoration,” Comer explained. “But when I take someone for a ride, I wanted him to ask, ‘Do all GTOs run like this?’ A sleeper, if you will.”
