Cypress California’s Dave Butter spent the better part of seven years building a ’29 "A" rodster that epitomized the term "slick" In essence it’s what would have happened if you put fenders on Lil’ John Buttera’s latest ragtop. Both topless goers possess seamless bodies, simple windshield posts, three-piece hoods, frenched-in taillights, filled ‘n’ peaked grille shells, rolled pans, Vega cross steering, Koni coil-overs, and Center Line "Indy" wheels.
Buter relies on a normally aspirated, 370-inch Crane-cammed, Edelbrock-manifolded, Carter-carbureted, Chevy V8. The frame rails are TCI-built, while Super Bell supplied the tube axle, Halibrand the "quickie," Ford the brakes, and Kelly Springfield the tires Meanwhile, imported leather (cork by Al Cooper) upholstery, Stewart-Warner Stage III gauges, and stock dash panel make up the interior accouterments.
