In 1939, when Jean-Michel Frank was asked to design rooms for perfume house Guerlain's Paris headquarters, he turned to his friend Christian Bérard for help. Bérard illustrated for Coco Chanel and designed sets for the Ballets Russes, but in the decorating world he is perhaps best known for his ravishing Guerlain spaces.
