so, we have another kid on the way, and as you might expect, I’m nesting—though I’d argue that those of us who work in design are always in nesting mode. I’d been fixating on the reality that two boys (yes, it’s a boy!) will soon share not only a room, but also a single closet that, until recently, was crammed with my college writing clips and other embarrassments.
I’ll admit: When my husband and I renovated, I totally skimped on the closets, assembling and installing the shelves and hanging bars myself. The result was ugly, inefficient, and nearly unworkable, but there’s life to live and magazines to edit, so onward we went. Until now.
