Whether they’re adorning greeting cards, mobile-phone cases, journals, or even sneakers, Rifle Paper Co.’s vintage-inspired floral designs are utterly unmistakable—as is Rifle’s signature palette: pale pink, fern green, and rich orange-red.
It was by happy accident that cofounder and creative director Anna Bond first landed on those shades when she launched her line of stationery eight years ago. “I bought some gouache at the art store on a whim. It really transformed my style and the way I saw color because it’s so vibrant,” she says. (That famous “Rifle red,” she adds, is Winsor & Newton’s Cadmium Scarlet, “right out of the tube!”)
