Arguably the only difference between interior design and architecture is scale. And it isn’t always the physically largest interventions that have the biggest impact. Just ask Fiona Dunin, director of FMD Architects. She says one of her most popular projects is Brighton Joinery (2011). FMD Architects takes on jobs ranging from new houses to commercial projects, as well as small joinery insertions such as this. “We don’t say no to anything, really,” Fiona says. “If someone comes along and they want a piece of joinery to house a drum kit, a sewing machine and a computer, we say, ‘sure!’”
