A new tropical infection, transmitted by the same mosquito, Aedes aegypti, that spreads Dengue and Chikungunya. Discovered in 1947 in the Zika forests of Uganda, it has been a relatively harmless virus for long. But in 2014, it started spreading widely in the Americas, especially in Brazil, in a dangerous form against which few people have immunity.
