A decade after teaming up, Italy’s Massimo Scali, 39, and Federica Faiella, 38, were forced to retire in 2011 due to injury.
Faiella quit skating and joined the police force. She married in 2013 and has a two-year-old son, Valerio.
Scali first worked as a coach and choreographer at the Detroit Skating Club, subsequently moving to Marina Zoueva’s rink in Canton, Michigan. In 2019, he relocated to the Hertz Arena in Estero, Florida, with Zoueva’s coaching/choreographic team.
