There’s no way around it. Before you begin crocheting anything, you are going to have to make color decisions. It’s always a safe bet to simply use the color shown in the pattern. Often, the designer’s color choice was deliberate, selected with the finished project in mind. I once designed a woman’s short-sleeved sweater with intricate texture. I chose a light, neutral, solid yarn for the project, to showcase the texture. I later saw the design worked in dark, variegated colors; the texture was obliterated in the busyness of the yarn.
