Following a successful first leg in Western Australia this past March, the GASGAS ‘United in Dirt Tour’ heads to the eastern states in April and May, allowing fans to experience GASGAS’s 2024 family of motocross, enduro and cross country models, as well as the new e-bikes. Indian Motorcycle have revealed details and images of their Roadmaster Elite for 2024, with the latest edition of this premium bagger paying tribute to an Indian colour scheme that turns 120 this year. The next evolution of Kawasaki’s Ninja LAMS model has arrived. What was originally a 250, then a 300, followed by a 400, is now available as a 500, combining familiar Ninja features with a larger engine and updated styling. After making its public debut at Phillip Island for the Australian round of the 2024 Superbike World Championship in February, the all-new Ninja 500 started arriving in Kawasaki dealerships in late March. The entry list for the first ever FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship was released in February and Australia will be a part of it. Tayla Relph will be flying the flag as the sole Aussie rider in the all-female race series that gets underway this June. The 24-rider grid (including two reserve riders) is loaded with European talent, but has been drawn from all over the world, including the USA, Central and South America, Israel, Japan, the UK and South Africa. Following their announcement late last year that they were returning to the Australian market, Zero Motorcycles recently revealed their initial dealer network. Each dealer will stock the broad Zero Motorcycles range, with a customer-focussed demonstrator program part of the new presence, too. As reported previously, Zero Motorcycles have been marketed here on two other occasions, most recently in 2017. For this new tilt at the Australian market, Peter Stevens Motorcycles will be handling the distribution and retailing, which will include spare parts, accessories and apparel, as well as the motorcycles themselves. On the eve of this year’s MotoGP season, Francesco ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia and Ducati Corse announced a contract renewal for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. Like most of this year’s MotoGP grid, Bagnaia’s current contract was due to expire at the end of the 2024 season, but the new deal will keep the 27-year-old from Turin on a Ducati Desmosedici GP bike for a further two years. Importantly, the new contract is only with Ducati Corse, not the Ducati Lenovo Team for whom Bagnaia has ridden since 2021. That means that, in the unlikely scenario that his performance drops off in this season or next, Bagnaia could be shifted out of the factory team to one of the satellite Ducati outfits, like Pramac Racing or Gresini Racing. A look through Kawasaki’s current motocross range shows they have just about every angle covered. There’s the venerable KX250 and KX450, related KX250X and KX450X, as well as the KX65 and KX85 for juniors. Recently, Kawaski added a new member to the group in the form of the KX112. While it may be new in Australia, the KX112 isn’t a brand-new model. It’s been around for a couple of years now and was born from the KX100 to tap into the ‘Supermini’ class of racing in the USA.
