VANITIES: A HISTORY The bathroom vanity as we know it only came into being relatively recently. While the vanity is now considered a blend of the bathroom basin, benchtop and surrounding storage, vanities used to look very different prior to the existence of plumbing. Originally vanities were designed as a small wooden table to be placed in a bedroom. The Victorian era introduced plumbing and wall-mounted sinks with two faucets in the bathroom. In the Edwardian period, the bathrooms of the aristocracy were luxurious in nature, with opulent fabrics and furnishings. THE ALL-ROUNDER I found this hairdryer to be the obvious winner. While its price point isn’t cheap, it is still justifiable, especially give its five-year warranty. The hairdryer includes three heat settings, three speed settings, and comes with a concentrator and diffuser, so it’s suitable for any hair type. I personally prefer to dry my hair using the highest heat and speed settings and found that this, combined with the concentrator, led to outstanding results. While the hairdryer is quite large in size, it’s surprisingly light, which makes for ease of use for extended periods of time.
