“The renovation of Germancraft Cabinets’ showroom, which involved building two functional kitchen spaces, was a challenging yet rewarding experience. Laminex materials were chosen for both areas in line with Germancraft Cabinets’ exciting partnership project with Laminex. We opted to showcase two contrasting design styles through these kitchens: Noir and Scandinavian. The Noir kitchen was designed to be dark, moody and luxurious. Its island was extended out to create a breakfast bar, and a butler’s pantry was incorporated into the kitchen to increase its functionality and appeal. The Scandinavian kitchen, on the other hand, is light, bright and minimal, with timber and concrete accents. “This sleek kitchen space is the product of a renovation aimed to improve the dated, poorly designed ‘80s kitchen which formerly occupied the space. The homeowners requested a new kitchen which would be sleek, with clean lines and a timeless colour palette, and were delighted with the final product. “Having been completely relocated from the other side of the room, this kitchen was part of an extensive renovation that also included the laundry and walk-in dressing room. The double-doorway access to the lounge was moved to the right, centring it with the new island bench. The window was also altered from being full height to above-bench only and the wall behind the dresser unit next to the butler’s pantry was extended to form the new breakfast niche where the original kitchen was previously located. The butler’s pantry entrance has a custom-built open display and pocket doors that slide away to provide unimpeded access.
