A news website in Iceland has released a live, reality-style YouTube video series that resembles Big Brother. However, the four main characters are nine-week-old kittens and the show is titled “Keeping up with the Kattarshians”. Discovered abandoned in an industrial park, the kittens are named Guðni, Stubbur, Briet and Ronja and were vet-checked before being moved into a dollhouse stocked with bunk beds, toys and of course cameras watching them all day and night. Reports claim that the program has been quite the snooze-fest with not a lot of drama breaking out between the feline friends. The project was reviewed and approved by the Icelandic Humane Society, as well as, other animal welfare groups before going live. The Takhini Hot Pools in Yukon, Canada, have taken advantage of the average temperature rarely exceeding four degrees Celsius by hosting a very chilly competition. Each February since 2011, the hot springs company invites visitors to participate in the International Hair Freezing Contest for the chance to win a cash prize. According to the Takhini Hot Pools, the best temperature to attempt hair freezing when it is approximately minus 28 degrees Celsius or colder. The recommendation for competitors is to dunk their head into the hot springs and then allow the cold air to freeze their hair, including eyebrows and eyelashes. PS4 KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 + 2.5 REMIX Kingdom Hearts is becoming a bit of a frustrating series to be a fan of. On the one hand, it’s still the coolest RPG series going around. The Sunshine Coast’s most famous and heritage-listed tourist attractions, the Big Pineapple is destined for a makeover. After several changes of ownership and with visitor numbers declining over the past few years, the new owners are determined to return the Big Pineapple to its former glory. Initial plans involve the redevelopment of the 162-hectare site to feature a family fun park, glamping sites, a caravan park, walking trails and outdoor sport and recreation facilities. The Guinness World Record has been set for the title of “Most nails hammered with the head in two minutes” on a recent Italian game show. American strongman, John Ferraro, who also goes by the name “Hammer Head”, successfully used his head alone to hammer 38 nails and claim the world record. Featuring on Italy’s “Lo Show Dei Record” television program, Ferrarro is believed to have a skull that is three times thicker than the average human. Hot Wheels the toy car company has teamed up with awesome downloadable indie game Rocket League to bring in some new vehicles as DLC. The Oculus Rift headset has had a big price change, dropping by US$200. You still have to order it in from overseas though. A Florida man has been awarded with a Guinness World Record for the largest collection of fossilised poop, otherwise known as coprolite. George Frandsen now has 1,277 pieces featuring samples from 15 American states and eight international countries. The largest poo piece weighs around three kilogram, is nicknamed “Precious” and represents a Miocene epoch sample produced by a crocodilian species from South Carolina dating back millions of years. When the collection was documented at the South Florida Museum in Bradenton, every item was inspected to verify its authenticity before announcing the world record title. Harry Sperl, also known as “Hamburger Harry”, lives in Daytona Beach, Florida, and believes his obsession started 26 years ago when he purchased five fake hamburgers to use in a photo. The large fast-food assortment includes a $3,500 cheeseburger water bed, Happy Meal cheeseburger toys and burger posters. A Canadian study was recently held to determine how much urine might be in the average public swimming pool. The team of researchers developed a plan to detect pee in a pool by using an artificial sweetener called acesulfame potassium (ACE). According to the study, as ACE does not break down within the human body, the substance is released through urine. Two public pools were monitored across three weeks for traces of ACE with one pool containing 110,000 gallons of water and the second holding 220,000 gallons. Results suggested that swimmers had leaked almost eight gallons of pee into the smaller pool and close to 20 gallons in the bigger one. Lead researcher, Lindsay Blackstock, suggested people should be educated better about appropriate swimming hygiene practices and recommended, “that all…
