Sony has made a big change with its controller for the PS5. It has ditched the DualShock design it has been using since the mid-90s and gone with the awesome looking DualSense. The new controller is linked closely to the gameplay offered by the new console. It has AdaptiveTriggers, giving you a much better sense of pressure and strength when you are interacting with things in a game world. It also offers Haptic Feedback, which is a next-gen version of Rumble, bringing with it a new level of immersion. The bad news is that you must play PS5 games with a PS5 controller. Microsoft and Sony have gone for massively different looks for their two consoles. The Xbox Series X was the first to be shown, and it’s a rectangular tower with a vent at the top that not only lets air out, but glows green. It’s big, but it looks and feels very powerful, which is kind of cool. It looks much better standing up than lying down, though, but you can lie it down if you like. Yet again, when we look at the experience of using both machines, Sony has gone for something completely new, where Microsoft has stuck with the familiar. In fact, with the Xbox Series X, many of the main changes to the user interface have already rolled out on the Xbox One. This includes an improved shopping experience, where it’s much faster to go between different screens and to access new content.
