Part 1: Hip and Thoracic Mobility exercises Welcome to the first article of our series on how you can improve your golf game and prevent injury by implementing different mobility exercises. This first article focuses on hip and thoracic mobility exercises. It’s quite common for golfers to have some mobility limitations in the hips and/or trunk leading to swing faults and/or injuries. The body is structured in a way that one joint/segment is mobile while the ones above and below are stable. ONE of the best parts of my job at Thornleigh Golf Centre is running beginner programs. I get to watch golfers progress from air swings to playing golf on the course. Below are some common golf terms and slang I am frequently asked about by new golfers. Par is the ideal number of shots to have per hole. If the hole is short, it will be a par 3. THE first thing you need to do is write your name on the card. To start with let’s practise marking your own scores down. The simplest way to mark the scorecard is straightforward. When playing stroke play, count the number of strokes you’ve taken on the hole just completed and write that number down in the box corresponding to that hole on the scorecard.
