FIRST things first, interviewing cover star Lydia Ko was an absolute pleasure. Ko’s tour rivals would certainly see her as force of nature to contend with, and for good reason. A win and a top 10 finish to kick off the 2022 season is guaranteed to put other players on high alert. But honestly, they would had her marked already. Ko has been impressing the golf world since she was just 14 years old and a decade later continues to bewitch us all with her impeccably poised swing and her all round great golfing talents. Speaking of forces of nature, in this issue we profile a meteorologist that specialises in golf and met with golf royalty aka Dame Laura Davies. Our regular golf nutrition, fashion, travel and fitness features get…
2022 launched with several Australian golf tournaments which made me experience this amazing sport on an entirely new level. The Fortinet Australian PGA Championship and the WPGA Championship held at Royal Queensland Golf Club was the first ever tournament I went to and watching Su Oh and Jediah (Jed) Morgan win live was incredibly exciting. WOW, WOW, WOW, I can’t explain how this event changed the way I look at the game. Suffice to say I’m even more captivated by golf then I was before. The women and men playing side by side was fantastic to see and I met such amazing people behind the scenes. Special shout out to the PGA team for introducing me to plenty of clever industry people. From directors to CEO’s through to sporting legends…

ON April 3, an era will end as the curtain descends on the Chevron Classic in Palm Springs. It will mark the 51st playing of the tournament that through the years it has been known as Colgate Dinah Shore (1972-81), the Nabisco Dinah Shore (1982-1999), the Nabisco Championship (2000-2001) the Kraft Nabisco Championship (2002-2014) and, for the past seven years the ANA Inspiration. But LPGA devotees have always referred to it as ‘The Dinah’ in honour of entertainer Dinah Shore, the tournament’s namesake in its early years. From its inception, it has been the LPGA’s signature event. When the tournament was launched in 1972 its 110,00 USD purse was the largest on tour by a considerable margin, for a 54-hole event (it became a 72-hole event a year later). And…
THE inaugural Fortinet WPGA Women’s Championship (where players vied to be the first to hold the freshly minted Karrie Webb Cup aloft at the Royal Queensland Golf Club) was blessed with sensational Summer weather. It was the first WPGA event of 2022 and the tournament ran like clockwork. Spirits were high for competitors and spectators alike. Early morning crowds thickened throughout the day as fans largely followed their favourite players around the mint condition Royal Queensland course. Su Oh ultimately reigned supreme to claim the trophy, edging out an in form Grace Kim for the prestigious win. It was a unique format given that both men and women played in unison throughout event with one woman and two men teeing off together to complete the rounds. Fan favourites Sarah Kemp…
