“Just one little cloud.” Rue bumped along on her Aunt Sookie’s shoulders, grabbing at the clouds in the big New York City sky. She reached up, up, up with all of her might, but all she caught was the fall breeze between her fingers.
“Rats,” she huffed. “I’m still not high enough.”
Rue loved clouds. She loved fluffy, cotton-candy clouds. She loved playing in rain clouds’ showers. And she loved clouds that looked like her favorite animals. If only she could catch one, she would love it most.
“Look, Rue,” said Aunt Sookie. She pointed to a very, very tall building. “There’s the Empire State Building.”
