You might miss the latest trend, as it’s harder to spot than usual. We’re opting for illusion for spring/summer 2016, as translucency replaces colour and design teeters on the brink of complete invisibility. In fashion, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi crafted outfits with delicate, see-through lace, while Dior’s runway had a pearlescent coating, with models draped in pink and peach organza so pale, it was barely there. Opaque is out in the home as well, with transparent materials such as glass and Perspex being used where once was wood and metal.
