Outdoor kitchens have become a status symbol in recent years, reflecting both an optimistic attitude towards the weather and our desire to take cooking and hosting alfresco when it delivers. ‘Outdoor spaces have become an essential part of contemporary architecture, [reflected by] the demand for kitchens designed for outdoor environments,’ says Fabiana Scavolini, CEO of Scavolini, which recently unveiled its first modular outdoor kitchen, Formalia Outdoor. ‘There is a trend towards customisation of layouts and finishes to create a unique space.’ But how does one go about doing that?
