I live in New York City (the city that infamously never sleeps) and I often find myself caught up in the go, go, go mentality. Even when it comes to quilting, I have to remind myself to slow… it… down. As someone who hand-sewed everything (both quilting and piecing) up until just a couple of years ago, my recent purchase of a sewing machine has been a blessing and a curse. On the plus side, I get to tackle lots of different projects. On the downside, I often feel overwhelmed by how many things I want to make. So, in the spirit of creating time to savour the process, here are five ways I like to help myself to slow it down:
