SEW STRIKING LOG CABIN BLOCKS The Log Cabin block is a traditional design that remains popular today. It is one of the most versatile designs that can create traditional and modern looking quilts. A great block for creating a scrappy quilt, or with planning and careful placement of fabrics you can create a more structured quilt. The rotation of blocks, size of strips and choice of fabrics can create a variety of striking looks. BASIC LOG CABIN BLOCK 1 A standard Log Cabin block has a square in the centre and then rectangles of increasing lengths, but the same width, sewn around the centre square, moving in the same direction.
