Christmas is a magical time of year filled with so much joy and happiness, when friends and family come together to spend quality time together – to eat, drink and be merry. But for some, this simply isn’t the reality. For care leavers – young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who have been through the UK’s care system – this can be an overwhelming and isolating time. This is something that Maggie Lloyd-Jones is trying to change, one quilted “hug” at a time, with her charity, Quilts for Care Leavers.
