If a picture’s worth a thousand words, the recently released book Iconic: A Photographic Tribute to Apple Innovation must be worth millions. Clocking in at more than 300 pages, the hefty volume is packed from end to end with gorgeous high-resolution photos that celebrate the craftsmanship of Apple’s devices over the past 37 years. Though the book isn’t a comprehensive product encyclopedia, all the major milestones are here, including the original Apple 1 circuit board, the Apple II, the Mac 128K, various models of iMacs, the MacBook Pro, iPods, iPads, and, of course, iPhones. All told, there are hundreds of products spanning six chapters—desktops, portables, peripherals, iDevices, prototypes, and packaging—many of them photographed with an artistic flair that draws attention to intricate details.
