TYPICAL APPLE. Having conquered the market for smartphones, tablets, personal Imedia players and high-end computers, Apple was expected to mount an assault on either the living room, with the long-rumored Apple TV screen, or on the wrist, with the iWatch, the current obsession of the tech echo-chamber. So while we were all looking there, suddenly the war for tech dominance opened up on an unexpected front: cars.
Apple introduced CarPlay, its iOS-in-the-car system, at the Geneva Motor Show in March, along with Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo.
