GERRY told me that he didn’t need a bucket list as he had done everything he wanted to, except get rich and that was too much like hard work!
Born in the UK, Gerry attended Radley College. He was a House Prefect, a ‘must try harder’ pupil in the classroom and an indifferent (read lazy) athlete, although his German was surprisingly good. He was in the Shooting V111, under the watchful eye of the dapper, little ex-Royal Marine, R.S.M. Howe, for four years, latterly as the Hon. Sec. and a Cadet Warrant Officer, in the CCF. He was awarded a Flying Scholarship, which he failed to use, was Captain of swimming and a keen member of both the Piscatorial and Model Aircraft Societies.
