Some quilters revel in every step of the construction process, staying in the moment and enjoying each slow, steady movement toward completion, while others grumble about this step and rush through the next, purely with the goal of turning a work-in-progress into a finished and bound quilt to use and enjoy. In other words, which is best—the journey or the destination? You can choose one or the other, but why not both? Years ago, I purchased a block of the month Baltimore Album kit that I never finished—simply because it had lots of intricate pieces to cut out and I had small children at home.
