Two police officers and a former sergeant have appeared in court in connection with charges of corruption, defeating the ends of justice and business burglary.
Police officers Constable Steve Segoale, 40, Reservist Constable Calvin Mphahlele, 42, and 52-year-old former police sergeant Andries Mafalo appeared before the Lebowakgomo Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, said Segoale was granted bail of R3 000 on the defeating the ends of justice charge.
Mafalo was granted bail in that same matter, however he was remanded in custody in connection with a separate burglary case, along with Mphahlele.
“The arrests occurred on Friday, October 25 and Sunday, October 27, respectively, as part of an ongoing investigation by the anti-corruption unit in Limpopo,” said Ledwaba.
