LANDSCAPE GENERATION
With the new version, the landscape in Minecraft is going to look completely different in a lot of ways, some small, some large. Hills and mountains will now appear more realistic, and caves, ravines, and other underground features will look a little different too. Badlands biomes will be smaller, rivers have been tweaked so that they merge with swamps rather than cut through them, and lakes are less likely to be placed in hot biomes.
DEEP CAVES
The big changes, though, are that the new subterranean caves are back – these were previewed in 1.17 pre-release snapshots, but they’re here again, bigger and better than ever.
