HISTORICS AT BROOKLANDS SALE
• The value of early Mini Cooper and Cooper S models continues to gather pace if the latest Historics at Brooklands sale on March 4 was anything to go by. The headline grabber amongst the seven Minis entered was a restored grey Morris Cooper 970 S. Showing 29,281 miles on the clock and in very good condition, it sold for a not insignificant £56,000! The sale made a white 1275 S look cheap at £33,600 against an estimate of £37,000-46,000, while a left-hand-drive MkI 998 Cooper in red, which was converted to dry suspension and had a few incorrect details, sold for £17,500.
Elsewhere a beautifully restored MkII Morris Traveller, resplendent in Tartan Red with red trim, exceeded its top estimate to sell for £14,560. A…
