Well, as we move towards the anniversary of D-Day, I’m in a post Salute recovery period after a hectic couple of days. There was loads of new stuff at the show (including Halo from Mantic!) and it was an interesting day out. But what’s in this months issue? I first met up with Ian at Warfare last November so I asked him – as I often do – how he started in the world of gaming. Ed. INTRODUCTION Tales of Derring Do: Rules for Adventures from Dime Novels and Pulp Magazines is a set of one to one skirmish rules designed to capture the perils and thrills of the stories in the Penny Dreadfuls, Dime novels and Pulp magazines as well as the radio, film and TV serials and movies which sprung from them. INTRODUCTION This is the title of Warlord Games’ Soldier of Fortune 4 Miniatures (beautifully sculpted by the talented Wojtek Flis) that were only available as limited release miniatures during November 2023. The set includes the Emperor and the artist Francois Gerard. The timing of the figures by Warlord ties in nicely with Ridley Scott’s controversial release at the cinemas.
