When I first learned my unborn son, Isaac, would have a genetic condition that we later learned was Down syndrome, I felt terrified. I felt betrayed, and yes, I confess, even punished by God. How could a loving God let this happen to me and my family after all we’d been through? Yet now I share as often as I can, Isaac has proven to be an utter blessing; to know him is to love him! My fear, it turns out, was unwarranted. Far from a punishment, Isaac is a gift.
