PRICE DECONTROL THIS PAST MONTH affects car owners and prospective car buyers. Ceilings have been lifted on about 18 million cars: all pre-'46 used cars, custom-built cars, foreign cars. It’s not expected that prices will increase appreciably. New car ceilings are still in effect.
BEEN COUNTING NEW CARS LATELY? (See “Letters,” Feb. ‘53 MOTOR TREND.) Production-wise, Chevrolet leads field with 27,500 weekly, followed by Ford (20,000), Plymouth (12,000), and Buick (9,000). Nash leads independents with 4,000, followed by Studebaker with 3,0 units a week.
